Map and terrain data

The RF Coverage Mapper and Pathloss apps use terrain elevation from the Mapzen Terrain Tiles (Tilezen project, Registry of Open Data on AWS), cached on this site and decoded into elevation profiles for propagation calculations. If those tiles are unavailable, elevation falls back to the Open-Meteo Elevation API. Base maps are from OpenStreetMap: a local UK archive built from the Protomaps basemap, and online OpenStreetMap tiles and Protomaps builds elsewhere. No data provider endorses RFConsult or these apps.

  • ArcticDEM terrain data DEM(s) were created from DigitalGlobe, Inc., imagery and funded under National Science Foundation awards 1043681, 1559691, and 1542736;
